No country can deprive Iran of the right to enrich uranium, said the head of Iran's nuclear program Mohammad Eslami in an interview published on Thursday by the Tehran newspaper "Etemad," LETA reported citing AFP.
"The basis of the nuclear industry is enrichment. Whatever you want to do in the nuclear process, you need nuclear fuel," noted Eslami.
"Iran's nuclear program is being implemented in accordance with the rules of the International Atomic Energy Agency, and no country can deprive Iran of the right to peacefully use this technology," emphasized the head of the nuclear program.
Eslami expressed this position during ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States regarding Tehran's nuclear program.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Tuesday that an agreement on key principles has been reached in negotiations with the United States, which will pave the way for a deal.
Washington has sent an aircraft carrier to the Middle East accompanied by military ships, increasing pressure on Iran.
