UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, during her speech at the Munich Security Conference, called for continued strengthening of pressure on Russia.
"We need to continue to intensify economic pressure on Russia, including tightening pressure on the oil and gas sector, on the Russian shadow fleet, and supporting economic pressure with additional sanctions," Cooper urged.
The UK Foreign Secretary also stated the necessity of providing Ukraine with multi-layered security guarantees.
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen revealed the contents of a new sanctions package against Russia and urged the European Union to approve it promptly. The 20th sanctions package, according to von der Leyen, will affect energy, financial services, and trade.
