Four Citizens of Georgia Detained in Poland

In the Polish city of Velun, in the Łódź Voivodeship, four citizens of Georgia were detained during a large-scale operation by security forces, reports the online publication RMF24, citing RFE/RL.

The operation involved officers from the border service, Warsaw police, and the Bureau of Anti-Terrorist Operations.

Lithuanian authorities issued an arrest warrant for one of the citizens of Georgia. Along with him, three other citizens of Georgia were detained.

Details of the case are not disclosed.

Given the scale of the operation and the involvement of anti-terrorist units, it can be assumed that serious crimes are involved, notes RMF24.

Since February 2022, Polish investigative authorities have opened 71 criminal cases on charges of espionage in the interests of Moscow and Minsk.

In addition, 55 people have been detained in Poland on suspicion of sabotage until October 2025, including 11 Belarusians.
