According to the French leader, the global market needs to be offered 'European debt.' Macron is confident that in the context of the EU's budget constraints, it is time to launch a common borrowing mechanism for future expenditures — new eurobonds.
The global market is seeking an alternative to the dollar, which it fears the most. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron in an interview with the newspaper Le Monde.
In this situation, according to the French leader, the market needs to be offered European debt. Macron is confident that in the context of the EU's budget constraints, it is time to launch a common borrowing mechanism for future expenditures — eurobonds of the future. In other words, large European programs are needed to finance the best projects. This, in the president's view, is an unprecedented opportunity that allows for a challenge to the hegemony of the dollar.
Macron emphasized that the European Union must become a unified power. Such a step would elevate this organization from its immature state. If successful, instead of 27 separate markets, there would be a single market encompassing the entire EU population.
"We united to stop wars, we united to create a market, but we have always forbidden ourselves to think about joint power, as until 1945 power meant civil war among us," said the President of France.
