Zelensky Reveals Details of Negotiations with Russia 0 10

During the negotiations held on February 4-5 in Abu Dhabi (UAE) with Russia, Ukraine refused to leave Donbas. As reported by Interfax-Ukraine, the details of the conversation were revealed in an interview with journalists by the country's president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

"Difficult questions remain difficult. Ukraine once again confirmed its position on the issue of Donbas. 'We stand where we stand' — this is the fairest and most reliable model for a ceasefire today, in our opinion," the Ukrainian leader stated.

He also commented on the initiative from the American side, which proposed creating a free economic zone in the disputed territories. According to Zelensky, "neither Ukraine nor Russia has ever been thrilled" about it. Nevertheless, Moscow and Kyiv discussed such a scenario in Abu Dhabi, which Washington considers a compromise. Furthermore, according to the president of Ukraine, the parties did not reach an agreement on the future of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

"All parties realize that the issue of the plant must be resolved along with the issues of restoring the dam, water usage, and the overall ecosystem of this area," Zelensky concluded.
