In the U.S., the Russian 'Admiral Kuznetsov' is called a Smoldering Heap of Debris

The Russian cruiser 'Admiral Kuznetsov' was doomed from the start, writes 19FortyFive.

The cruiser 'Admiral Kuznetsov' — the only Russian aircraft carrier — was doomed from the start and represents a smoldering heap of debris, believes Steve Ballestrieri, a columnist for the American magazine 19FortyFive.

The author notes that the aircraft carrier, which was described as 'doomed from the very beginning,' suffered from a series of technical malfunctions, particularly related to its outdated propulsion system that emitted thick black smoke, and the use of a ski jump for launching fighters. Ballestrieri refers to the ship 'Admiral Kuznetsov' as a smoldering heap of debris that became obsolete even before its maiden voyage.

'This ship was doomed from the start, but no one in Moscow paid attention to this, and now the once-proud symbol of Soviet naval ambitions is heading for scrap. And Russia will likely end its carrier aviation for at least a decade, if not several decades,' the publication states.

Previously, the same author considered the aircraft carrier 'Admiral Gorshkov,' sold by Russia to India, a naphthalene ball.
