A volcano eruption occurred on the Hawaiian Islands. This was reported by the United States Geological Survey (USGS).
As specified, this was the forty-first episode of the ongoing eruption, which began at 11 a.m. local time (around midnight Riga time). The new episode immediately announced itself with a sharp increase in seismic activity. During it, the volcano released a lava fountain, with the eruption reaching heights of 460–480 meters. The northern and southern vents of the giant exhibited equal activity throughout the entire eruption episode, seismologists note.
According to specialists, the first eruption of Kilauea in a year was recorded on January 13. At that time, the height of the lava fountains reached 200 meters.
