The option of a U.S. military operation in Belarus seems unlikely.

"The Venezuelan scenario" for Belarus hinges not on its impossibility, but on the role of an external player. A forceful option involving the United States is unlikely due to the lack of infrastructure and the perception of Belarus as a zone of influence for Russia. Unlike Venezuela and Iran, Belarus holds strategic significance for the Kremlin, and in the event of a crisis in the country, it will be Moscow that makes the key decisions. This opinion was expressed to Belsat by the director of the Political Sphere Institute, Andrei Kazakevich.

The expert noted that the option of a U.S. military operation in Belarus seems unlikely, primarily due to the absence of the necessary infrastructure both along the perimeter of Belarusian borders and within the country. This concerns not only military capabilities but also the depth of intelligence operations and the ability to move armed forces discreetly. Moreover, the U.S. understands that this would create significant problems in relations with Russia, as Belarus is viewed as a direct zone of influence of the Russian Federation.

"For the political spectrum currently in power in the United States, Belarus is traditionally not considered as an independent entity, but rather as an extension of the sphere of influence of the Russian Federation," he noted.

Meanwhile, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense is recording unprecedented militarization in European countries, reported the head of the military department of the republic, Viktor Khrenin.

He reminded that a grouping of various military aviation assets is being deployed in European countries, which are also practicing training tasks for strikes on Belarusian territory.

"This is more than 2,200 aircraft. The grouping in Poland and the Baltic states reaches up to 130, last year it reached 140 tactical aviation aircraft. We also see flights of American strategic bombers that are practicing combat training tasks for strikes on our territory," Khrenin said.

The head of the Belarusian defense department noted that by 2025, the army received modern air defense systems.

"As part of improving the effectiveness of air defense systems of the Air Force and Air Defense troops, we received and put into combat service Su-30SM2 fighters last year. We received Tor systems, which have proven effective in combating unmanned aerial vehicles. We received new Mi-35 helicopters, as well as radar detection systems - Sopka, Vostok, Rosa-RB. This allows us to see the situation both along our border and beyond," said the Minister of Defense.
