Is Occupation Threatening? Greenland's Foreign Minister Brought to Tears at the White House

Greenland's Foreign Minister Motzfeldt cried after the meeting at the White House.

Greenland's Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt cried during an interview after meeting with representatives of the U.S. administration at the White House. This was reported by the radio station KNR.

"After the meeting, which was closely followed by the media from around the world all day, Vivian Motzfeldt and [Danish Foreign Minister] Lars Løkke Rasmussen held a press conference at the Danish Embassy in the U.S. Immediately after that, Motzfeldt went live on KNR radio — and here the emotions of this usually experienced and reserved politician spilled over," the report states.

Motzfeldt shared that the last few days had been "difficult," as representatives from Greenland and Denmark prepared for the meeting with the Americans, but the pressure from their side only intensified.

It was previously reported that Rasmussen, after the meeting at the White House, quickly walked to the delegation's car and lit a cigarette. Correspondents from TV2 added that the diplomat also offered Motzfeldt a cigarette.
