Boeing Surpasses Airbus in Aircraft Sales for the First Time in Seven Years

The American company Boeing sold more aircraft in 2025 than its European competitor Airbus for the first time in seven years. According to the published statistics, Boeing recorded 1,175 gross orders for aircraft, exceeding the 1,000 gross sales reported by Airbus the day before.

A key role for Boeing was played by the largest order in the company's history – from Qatar Airways, Bloomberg reports. It was announced during U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to the Middle East in May.

"The aircraft manufacturer is receiving orders thanks to support from the White House, while also strengthening its finances by accelerating production rates after a series of crises," the agency writes.

In the past year, Boeing delivered 600 aircraft to customers. Although this is fewer than Airbus's 793 aircraft, it marks Boeing's best result since 2018. In December, the company achieved a record monthly figure – 63 aircraft delivered.

In December, Boeing received 175 new orders, despite eight cancellations. The bulk was secured by a contract for 110 aircraft with Alaska Air Group – the largest order in the airline's history.

Overall, Boeing is demonstrating a gradual recovery of its position in the global aviation market after several challenging years.
