The European Union (EU) must talk to Russia about Ukraine. This was stated by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "I believe it is time for the EU to start negotiations with Russia as well," she emphasized.

Giorgia Meloni noted that she agrees with French President Emmanuel Macron, who had also previously called for dialogue with Russia. Additionally, she supported the position of Italy's Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the League party, Matteo Salvini, who has also spoken about the need for direct contacts with Moscow.

At the same time, according to Meloni, it is currently unclear who among the representatives of the EU authorities will support direct dialogue with Russia. "There are too many voices," she remarked.
