The armed forces of Iran will attack American military bases in the Middle East if the US interferes in the protests occurring in the Islamic Republic. This warning was issued by the speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf.

He addressed the "disrespected President of the United States" Donald Trump on his page on the social network X, emphasizing that any possible adventure will provoke a response.

"Know that the Iranians are united and determined to act against their enemy," the politician stated, reacting to Trump's promise to assist peaceful protesters in Iran. According to him, Washington is "fully prepared for action."

Prior to this, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, stated that any US interference would lead to the destabilization of the entire region. He also urged American citizens to pay attention to the safety of their soldiers amid the militaristic rhetoric of the White House leader. Meanwhile, the advisor to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Shamkhani, threatened to "cut off the hand of any intervener" who interferes in the country's internal affairs.

The largest protests in recent years erupted in the country at the end of December against the backdrop of a difficult economic situation. Iranians are dissatisfied with inflation, which, according to official data, is around 40 percent, and the devaluation of the national currency. These circumstances have been compounded by energy issues and rising gasoline prices.

In recent days, the number of discontented has been growing, including reports of attacks on law enforcement officers and attempts to seize administrative buildings. In response, police have used gas and other measures. Opposition representatives and observers report the deaths of protest participants, which prompted Trump's statement.
