Chinese Embassy in the U.S.: Arms sales to Taiwan bring military conflict in the region closer.
Arms sales to Taiwan by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump are bringing the conflict in the region closer. This was stated to the media by Liu Pengyu, an official representative of the Chinese Embassy in Washington.
"Such actions will not prevent the inevitable failure of 'Taiwan independence'," the diplomat expressed.
Liu Pengyu commented on data from the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency regarding the total cost of arms supplied to Taiwan amounting to $11 billion. According to the diplomat, Washington's support for Taiwan through its armament will backfire.
