Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated in his Christmas greeting that all Ukrainians make one wish on this day: "May he die."

The President did not specify whose death Ukrainians wish for. Ukrainian Telegram channels suggest that he meant Putin.

He also referred to Russians as "godless people" who have "nothing to do with Christianity and anything human" due to the strikes on Ukraine.

In the Christmas greeting published on the President's website on the evening of December 24, 2025, Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke about the unity of Ukrainians, stating that the country celebrates Christmas simultaneously, "as one big family."

"Ukrainians are together today. They celebrate Christmas on the same date, as one big family," Zelensky's address states.

He noted that Christmas Eve is "a unique time, with a special spirit, its own special magic," when families gather around one table. But then Zelensky warned that Russia "is trying to take all of this away from us."

At the same time, according to Zelensky, the Russian Federation is unable to "bomb the Ukrainian heart, our faith in each other, and this unity of ours."
