A drone of unknown origin has been found in Turkey — this occurred the day after a Russian reconnaissance drone Orlan-10 fell in the northwestern part of the country, Turkish media reported on Saturday, citing LETA and AFP.
The drone was discovered in an empty field near the city of Balıkesir, located southwest of Istanbul.
Television and radio companies Halk TV and Haberturk report that the unmanned aerial vehicle has been delivered to Ankara for analysis.
According to media reports citing farmers, the drone apparently fell a few days ago.
On Friday, another drone was found near the city of Izmit, about 30 kilometers from the Black Sea coast.
According to information provided by Turkey's Ministry of Interior, which has launched an investigation, the found drone is presumed to be a Russian Orlan-10 type device used for reconnaissance and surveillance.
On Monday, Turkey shot down another drone that "went out of control" and was approaching its airspace from the Black Sea.
Turkey has warned both Russia and Ukraine against the unacceptable expansion of the war into other parts of the region.
