The United Kingdom has imposed sanctions against Russian oil companies.
The authorities of the United Kingdom have announced the imposition of sanctions against 24 individuals and legal entities associated with Russia. Among those included in the list published on the Ministry of Finance's website are the oil companies Tatneft and RussNeft.
This decision means that those included in the registry will face asset freezes, financial and investment restrictions. London cites "participation in the destabilization of Ukraine, undermining or threatening its territorial integrity, sovereignty, or independence; benefiting from the Russian government or supporting it" as the reason for the restrictive measures.
In addition to the mentioned companies, the British list has been supplemented by NNK-Oil (Independent Oil and Gas Company), Rusneftegaz JSC, a cotton factory in Moscow, and citizens of the UAE, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
Earlier today, on December 18, the European Union announced new sanctions against the Russian shadow fleet involved in oil transportation. A total of 41 vessels were included in the list.
