Slovakia is preparing a lawsuit against the European Commission (EC) to challenge the ban on gas imports from Russia. This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Robert Fico during a speech broadcast on the Slovak Television and Radio YouTube channel.
"We are going to file a lawsuit against the European Commission. Although we voted against it, there was no possibility to veto it; the European Commission adopted it with a qualified majority," the politician said.
According to Fico, Slovakia and Hungary have an agreement to prepare a qualified lawsuit against the EC to challenge the decision to ban the import of Russian gas.
