The new product is also designed to perform various civil tasks.

The heavy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) "Jutian," independently developed by China, has completed its first flight, reported the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), which is responsible for this project.

The flight of the UAV, which has a length and wingspan of 16.35 meters and 25 meters respectively, took place in the Pucheng County of Weinan City (Shaanxi Province, Northwest China).

The maximum takeoff weight of the drone is 16 tons, and its payload capacity is 6000 kg. Its autonomy is up to 12 hours, and its flight range is 7000 km.

With its powerful payload capacity, high ceiling altitude, wide speed range, and capability for short takeoff and landing, the UAV is designed to perform various civil tasks.

The UAV can be used for a wide range of tasks, including precise delivery of heavy cargo to remote regions, restoration of emergency communications, disaster relief, as well as providing services in geographic surveying, situational assessment during disasters, and mineral exploration.

The drone can carry up to six tons and is equipped with eight suspension points for guided bombs, air-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles, and kamikaze drones that attack targets after prolonged loitering.

In its internal compartment, the "Jutian" can transport more than 100 small drones, launched in swarms to suppress enemy air defense.

The name "Jutian" translates to "nine heavens" and signifies an extremely high sky.
