U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Whitcoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner will meet with the head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, two days after talks with Putin in the Kremlin.

U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Whitcoff will meet on Thursday, December 4, with Ukraine's chief negotiator, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov, two days after talks in Moscow with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to a senior U.S. administration official who spoke to several American media outlets, the meeting will take place in Miami, Florida.

According to reports from publications including The New York Times (NYT) and CBS News, as well as agencies AP and AFP, U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, who also participated in the talks with Putin on December 2, will attend the meeting.

Rustem Umerov and other representatives from Ukraine had already met in Florida with Whitcoff, Kushner, and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio on November 30.

Although negotiations to end the war in Ukraine have not yet yielded concrete results, President Donald Trump stated that Whitcoff and Kushner have a "strong impression" that Putin "wants to make a deal," "end the war," and "return to a more normal life."

According to Putin's aide Yuri Ushakov, no compromise solution was found during the negotiations. In an interview with the Indian television channel India Today, Putin confirmed that during the meeting in the Kremlin with representatives of the U.S. president, Russia did not agree with some points of the American plan to end the war.
