New attacks by Ukrainian drones on oil infrastructure facilities have been recorded in the Tambov and Voronezh regions. Regional authorities report damage to tanks and fires, writes DW.
Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the Tambov region on the night of Monday, December 3, reported the region's governor, Evgeny Pervyshov. According to him, a fire broke out at the site after drone debris fell, and firefighting teams and law enforcement were working at the scene. Pervyshov did not specify whether there were any casualties or which specific oil depot was targeted by the drones.
According to the Ukrainian monitoring channel Exilnova+, the strike hit the Nikiforovskaya oil depot in the village of Dmitrievka, located about 45 km from Tambov. It has 14 tanks with a total capacity of 10,440 cubic meters, intended for storing diesel fuel. The depot belongs to Rosneft and was part of Tambovnefteproduct until the end of November, when it was merged into Voronezhnefteproduct.
Additionally, on the night of December 3, Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the Voronezh region, reported the region's governor Alexander Gusev. According to him, several fuel tanks were "slightly damaged" when a downed drone fell. Gusev added that there was no fire and no casualties occurred.
Attacks in the Regions Continue
A day earlier, on December 2, Ukrainian drones struck the Rosneft oil depot in the city of Livny, Oryol region. A fire broke out on two fuel tanks.
According to a report from the Russian Ministry of Defense, 102 Ukrainian aircraft-type drones were "intercepted and destroyed" over Russian territory last night. The highest number of drones, 26, was recorded over the Belgorod region.
The report also included 22 drones over the Bryansk region, 21 over Kursk, 16 over Rostov, 7 over Astrakhan, 6 over Saratov, and 4 over Voronezh. The Tambov region was not mentioned in the agency's report.
