Zelensky Arrives on Visit to Ireland

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Dublin on Tuesday night, where he was met by Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, LETA reports citing Ukrainska Pravda.

During his visit to Ireland, Zelensky is accompanied by his wife, Olena Zelenska.

According to data from the aviation monitoring website AirNav, the plane of the President of Ukraine landed at Dublin International Airport at 22:47 (00:47 Latvian time).

Later, Martin reported on social media that he met with the President of Ukraine and the First Lady, expressing firm support for the Ukrainian people who are defending their freedom and democracy. He also published a video of the meeting at Dublin Airport.

It is expected that the Ukrainian negotiator, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, will present Zelensky with a detailed report on negotiations with the U.S. delegation in Florida today.

"Tomorrow I will receive a full report from our delegation, not just over the phone. They will arrive in Ireland. They will tell me step by step at what stage the negotiations are," Zelensky stated earlier during his visit to Paris.

"I also understand that the United States will receive a response from the Russian side," he added, apparently referring to the meeting of U.S. Special Envoy Steve Vitkov with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which is set to take place today in Moscow.

It was previously reported that on Sunday, negotiations took place in Florida between the U.S. and Ukrainian delegations regarding possible ways to end the war initiated by Russia against Ukraine.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio characterized the negotiations as productive but acknowledged that much work remains to be done.

The initial version of the proposed 28-point plan from the U.S. was very favorable to Russia. It required Ukraine to cede occupied territories to Russia, as well as those that it had not even captured. Kyiv was also proposed to commit to never joining NATO and to reduce its army.

During the negotiations between representatives of the U.S., Ukraine, and Europe that took place a week ago in Geneva, the plan was modified to take into account the Ukrainian position. However, as noted by Bloomberg, progress is still hindered by the same obstacles as before.
