The second person in the state has just turned 54 years old.

Sergey Mitkalik, chairman of the Anti-Corruption Headquarters NGO, noted on the air of "Kyiv24" that the search at Ermak's place is the first precedent where a search was conducted at the head of the President's Office in a corruption case. According to him, under previous presidents, no one would have dared to come with a search warrant to the heads of their administrations.

Before starting his political career, the current head of the President's Office of Ukraine, Andriy Ermak, who was subjected to searches, was a lawyer. Things were going well, but at some point, Ermak abruptly changed his field of activity and began working in film production.

In 1995, he received a master's degree in "International Private Law" and a diploma as a translator-referent in English. In the same year, Ermak obtained a certificate allowing him to practice law. Ermak began his legal career at the law firm "Proksen," which was engaged in consulting large international companies. He worked there from 1991 to 1995.

After that, he and his partners founded the law firm "B. E. R. S. and Partners." Its activities were related to new areas for Ukraine – intellectual property, commercial and financial law, as well as anti-dumping investigations. As early as 1997, Ermak founded an international law firm and actively participated in the development of the first legislative acts in the field of economic law and intellectual property. In addition to consulting many large Ukrainian and international companies, he collaborated with representatives of art, show business, and sports.

The politician is a member of the IBA (International Bar Association) and a member of the Ukrainian Bar Association. In 2005, Ermak founded the International Association "Ukrainian-Georgian Cooperation in Foreign Investment."

Ermak decided to try himself in a completely different field and engaged in production. The future head of the President's Office founded the company Garnet International Media Group. The first film he produced was the sports drama "The Rule of Fight" about boxing and mixed martial arts. Later, he produced several more films. Since 2017, Andriy Ermak has been a member of the Ukrainian and European Film Academies.

Ermak began his political career in 2006, becoming a public assistant to the people's deputy from the Party of Regions, Elbrus Tedeev. He held this position for three convocations (V, VI, VII) of the Verkhovna Rada.

In April 2024, Ermak became the only Ukrainian in the Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
