A few hours after leaving the position of head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak announced plans to go to the combat zone.

Former head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak plans to go to the front line. He stated this in a comment to the American publication New York Post on Friday, November 28, just a few hours after he submitted his resignation.

"I am going to the front and ready for any repression. I am an honest and decent person," Yermak wrote. He explained his decision by saying that he "does not want to create problems" for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

He did not specify how and when he plans to join the combat actions, nor did he say whether he would join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

"I am disgusted by the dirt directed at me, and even more disgusting is the lack of support from those who know the truth," added the former head of Zelensky's office.

Yermak's Dismissal

On the evening of November 28, Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Andriy Yermak from the position of head of his office, noting that Yermak had submitted his resignation of his own accord. Yermak himself did not comment on his resignation. Zelensky called what happened a "reset of the Office of the President of Ukraine" and thanked Yermak for ensuring that "the Ukrainian position in the negotiation track was presented as it should be."

On the morning of the same day, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) conducted searches at his office. There were no official reports on the case under which the investigative actions took place or whether any suspicions were announced. Earlier, opposition politicians had linked Yermak's name to the "Mindyach case." Timur Mindyach, a close associate of Volodymyr Zelensky, along with several high-ranking officials, is suspected by NABU of creating a corruption scheme in the energy sector.

Andriy Yermak, who headed the Office of the President of Ukraine since February 2020, was considered one of Volodymyr Zelensky's key allies and the second most influential person in the country after the head of state. He led the Ukrainian delegation in negotiations regarding the peace plan.
