WP: EU leaders proposed not to limit the number of the AFU in the alternative plan.
Leaders of European Union (EU) countries in their alternative plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine proposed not to limit the number of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to 600,000 personnel. This was reported by The Washington Post (WP) citing documents.
"The plan forces Ukraine to make concessions that have long been considered unacceptable for the country, including the transfer of territories to Russia and a significant reduction in the size of the Ukrainian army. It also excludes the presence of any NATO troops on Ukrainian territory," the article states.
According to the publication, the European plan emphasizes that Ukraine must regain control over the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) and the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (KHPP), as well as obtain unobstructed passage along the Dnieper River and control over the Kinburn Spit, which has been under the control of the Russian Armed Forces since 2022. The resolution of all other territorial issues is proposed to begin only after a ceasefire.
