The Second Lady of the United States appeared in public without her wedding ring, and insiders claim that Usha Vance is on the brink of divorce after her husband passionately embraced Charlie Kirk's widow at his memorial, writes Focus.
Usha Vance was without a ring during her visit to Camp Lejeune military base in Richlands, North Carolina, which she attended on November 19 with First Lady Melania Trump. For Republicans, who place family ties at the forefront of their political agenda, this is a serious sign that all is not well in the family of the U.S. Vice President, writes the Daily Mail.
In photos, 39-year-old Usha Vance is seen disembarking from a plane without a ring. And it did not return to her finger in the following days. Meanwhile, J.D. Vance did not remove his ring.
The photo emerged after weeks of rumors that troubles in the Vice President's marriage began back in October when Vance warmly embraced Erica Kirk during a memorial service for her husband, right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
Reader Nicola Hickling reported that Kirk said, "I can’t do this, I don’t want to do this."
And he replied, "I’m proud of you."
Talks of a possible rift between the second couple were fueled by the Vice President's admission that he pleaded with his wife to renounce Hinduism: he is a Catholic.
According to Vance, the Second Lady is a Hindu and grew up in a non-religious family.
Vance, on the other hand, is a devout Catholic and plans to raise their three children in a Christian family. He converted to Catholicism in 2019, and his wedding to Usha took place in 2014, before he decided to become religious.
"Now almost every Sunday, Usha will go to church with me," Vance told a MAGA audience at a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi.
"Yes, my wife did not grow up a Christian. I think it’s safe to say she grew up in a Hindu family, but not in a particularly religious family in either direction," he said.
The Vice President then confessed that he told Usha he would like her to "believe in the Christian Gospel." This was the first time Vance publicly expressed his desire for Usha to embrace Christianity.
"As I’ve told her, and said publicly, and I’ll say now in front of 10,000 of my closest friends, — Vance continued. — Do I hope that eventually she somehow comes to feel the same way I do? Yes, I sincerely hope so because I believe in the Christian Gospel, and I hope that eventually my wife comes to the same conclusion."
He added: "But if she doesn’t, then God says that everyone has free will, and so for me, that’s not a problem."
Moreover, photos from Usha Vance's previous appearance on November 10 — a joint visit to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center with her husband — show that she was also without a ring at that event.
The last time Usha was seen with a ring in public was on November 8 at the Marine Ball.
