Kallas on the US Plan for Ukraine: Where is the Involvement of Ukrainians and Europeans?

For the success of any peace plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict, Ukrainians and Europeans must be involved. This is how the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, commented on the new US peace plan.

The head of EU diplomacy stated that Europe will discuss the "latest news." "What we, Europeans, have always advocated for is a stable and just peace, and we welcome any efforts aimed at achieving this goal," she noted.

Earlier, Kallas stated that the European Union is ready to extend its trans-European military transport corridors to Ukraine. According to her, the European Commission (EC) has planned to extend these corridors to Ukraine, which will become part of the guarantees. This will mean that the EU will be able to deliver military aid there more quickly, Kallas emphasized.

The new "military Schengen" project involves investing up to 100 billion euros by 2030 to modernize approximately 500 infrastructure facilities (bridges, tunnels, ports, and air harbors) along four transport routes or corridors along the West–East and North–South lines. According to information from The Telegraph, the US peace plan suggests that Russia will pay Ukraine "rent" for Donbass.
