The US and Iran are close to an agreement: Geneva is preparing a venue for signing

According to media reports, Washington and Tehran have agreed on the text of the document, but final approval from the parties has not yet been obtained.

The US has begun preparations for a possible signing of an agreement with Iran in Geneva. As reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing an informed source, the US Air Force is already transferring equipment to Europe that may be needed in case US Vice President JD Vance arrives in Switzerland.

According to Ravid, the equipment is being delivered for a possible signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran.

"US Air Force planes have headed to Europe to deliver equipment in case Vance arrives in Geneva to sign the document," the journalist wrote on social media platform X.

According to his information, the American and Iranian sides have already agreed on the text of the future agreement. However, final political approval of the document has not yet been obtained, so its signing remains in question.

Details of the memorandum's content are not disclosed. It is also unclear when the signing might take place and what obligations the parties will undertake.

Preparations for a possible ceremony in Geneva indicate significant progress in negotiations between the US and Iran. However, an important step remains before a final agreement — official approval of the document by both sides. While Washington and Tehran remain cautious, the fate of the future memorandum depends on political decisions that may be made in the near future.
