Until the middle of next week, rain clouds are expected in Latvia every day, with heavy rain and thunder at times, and cool weather will persist, forecasters predict.
On Saturday, a prolonged rain will occur in the eastern part of the country, while in Kurzeme and Zemgale the sun will shine, gathering rain clouds, and thunderstorms will occur in some areas. At night, temperatures in Kurzeme will drop to +4 degrees in some places, while the maximum temperature during the day will range from +12 degrees in some areas of eastern Latvia to +20 degrees in the west.
On Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, there will be intermittent rain, with thunderstorms in some areas. The wind will be from the south and west, ranging from light to moderate, and gusty during thunderstorms. Nighttime temperatures will be +7...+12 degrees, while daytime temperatures will only warm up to +14...+18 degrees.
It is possible that from the middle of next week, precipitation will decrease. In the second half of the week, temperatures will rise. According to the current forecast from the Global Forecast System, a heatwave of 30 degrees is expected on the eve of Midsummer Day, while cooler weather will return for the holidays.
