During a massive drone attack carried out by Russia on Tuesday night against Ukraine, including the Odessa region and Danube ports, one of the drones entered Romanian territory and fell there, authorities reported, according to LETA citing AFP.

"On the night of November 10 to 11, Russia carried out new airstrikes on the Danube ports of Ukraine," the Romanian Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Numerous explosions were recorded on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube, near the port of Izmail," the statement noted.

The ministry indicated that it received information about the fall of an aircraft in the Grindă area, approximately five kilometers south of the border.

Army units were dispatched to the scene, which reported the possible presence of drone fragments.

In September, Romania summoned the Russian ambassador after a Russian drone entered its airspace.

In February, Bucharest passed a law allowing the shooting down of drones violating the country's airspace.

On the night of September 10, at least 19 Russian drones entered Polish territory. Some of them were shot down.

Following these unprecedented incidents — both in terms of the number of drones and their interception — NATO strengthened measures to monitor the airspace of Eastern flank countries.
