Savills: Dubai has surpassed New York in the list of the best cities for millionaires.
Dubai has surpassed New York and taken the top spot in the list of the best cities for millionaires. The most suitable metropolises for the wealthy were named by the international real estate broker Savills, with the results of the study reviewed by Bloomberg.
The appeal of Dubai is explained by the absence of inheritance and capital gains taxes, a developed infrastructure, a high level of security, as well as the largest variety of international schools. An important factor is also the opportunity to obtain a 'golden visa' — for an investment of 2 million dirhams (544,500 dollars), it grants the right to live in the country for 10 years.
New York ranks second in the rating, while Singapore rounds out the top three. British London, although it leads in quality of life, has dropped to tenth place due to the country's tax system, which has negatively affected the demand for luxury real estate.
