The Georgian government will send aid to Ukraine in the form of generators worth 1.5 million lari (about 650,000 euros - ed.).

According to the decree, the Georgian Energy Development Fund will purchase generators of various types worth 1.5 million lari for delivery to Ukraine," the agency's statement said. The government approved the decision at a meeting.

The country's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze will sign the decree on Friday, October 31.

On September 25, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili expressed support for Ukraine in the "bloody war" with Russia while speaking at the United Nations. "We understand better than many the pain that the Ukrainian people are experiencing today. Today, as before, Georgia remains unwavering in its support for the Ukrainian people," the president said.

Earlier, the Georgian Ministry of Defense announced the start of command-staff exercises involving NATO countries.

The maneuvers began in the town of Krtsanisi. "Deputy Defense Minister Giorgi Liluashvili and NATO military liaison officer Colonel Berat Teli congratulated Georgian and foreign servicemen participating in the exercises," the ministry's statement said.

The Georgian Ministry of Defense added that the exercises will be conducted at the brigade level with computer support. Their goal was stated as training multinational brigade-level units under Georgian leadership.
