Media reports note that the shortest route from Moscow is through Belarus, Poland, and Slovakia. The director of the European Information Center believes that this option could be the "most ideal." He emphasized that concerns about incidents in Polish airspace are unfounded.
Another possible route for the head of state’s plane could be a flight through Turkey and the Adriatic Sea, as well as Montenegro and Serbia. The expert noted that many consider this route to be the safest; however, he finds such reasoning strange.
A third option could be a detour route through the Black Sea, Turkey, Bulgaria, and Serbia.
"The flight route must pass over several EU and NATO countries in any case. This means that, regardless of how it is laid out, all approvals will go through Brussels, as the headquarters of both organizations are located there," noted the editor-in-chief of the aviation portal.
