U.S. President Donald Trump stated that together with NATO he is "increasing pressure" for a peace agreement for Ukraine. He said this at a press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb, according to Clash Report.
He expects Russia and Ukraine to participate in negotiations for a settlement soon.
"This is a terrible war. It is worse than any conflict since the end of World War II. You look at the people who are being killed. It’s Russia and Ukraine. I think we will make a deal there, we will do it. There are many reasons for them to do it. And I think they will come to the negotiating table soon," the president stated.
According to him, the U.S. is selling a lot of weapons to NATO: "And it’s going, I think, mostly to Ukraine. It’s up to them. But they are buying weapons from the U.S. We are making a deal. The best weapons in the world."
The American leader also did not rule out new sanctions against Russia.
War in Ukraine - Trump's Statements
Earlier, Trump announced the end of the war in the Gaza Strip. According to him, next in line is Ukraine.
"As you remember, we settled seven conflicts. This is the eighth. I thought that the easiest of all would be Russia-Ukraine. I think that will happen too," the American leader said then.
