Senior American officials report that a military group of 200 Americans will be deployed in the Middle East to "monitor" compliance with the ceasefire in Gaza between Israel and Hamas following a peace agreement brokered by President Donald Trump.
"Their role will be to oversee, observe, and ensure that there are no violations," a senior official told reporters.
According to him, the group will include military personnel from Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, and possibly the UAE. Another source claims that "the deployment of American troops in Gaza is not planned."
A source familiar with the situation told The Times of Israel that American troops will likely be stationed in Egypt, where they will establish a joint command center and coordinate with other security forces operating in Gaza to align their actions with Israeli forces to avoid clashes.
