Высшее военное начальство Америки прибыло к союзникам.

Washington is concerned about the confrontation with Venezuela and is seeking satellites.

U.S. Navy Admiral Alvin Holsey, commander of the United States Southern Command (SOUTHCOM), met in Ecuador with Deputy Defense Minister Roberto Quintero and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces General Henry Delgado Salvador to discuss military cooperation aimed at ensuring security and strengthening the country's efforts to combat criminal organizations.

The admiral also presided over the ceremony for the transfer of a modernized TPS-43 radar system, which will significantly enhance Ecuador's capabilities to monitor its airspace.

A Memorandum of Understanding on information security in the field of communications was also signed.

This agreement complements recent agreements signed between the two countries during high-level visits. In July, during the visit of U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, the two countries signed an administrative agreement providing for the exchange of communications officers between the two countries as part of a security cooperation strategy.

Additionally, in early September, during his visit to Ecuador, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced nearly $20 million in funding for equipment, the purchase of UAVs, intelligence cooperation, and training.
