American technology giant Microsoft has hired former British Prime Minister from the Conservative Party Rishi Sunak as an advisor.
Sunak works at Microsoft as a part-time senior advisor, consulting the company on "macroeconomic and geopolitical trends," as well as representing it at events.
To avoid conflicts of interest, he is prohibited from advising Microsoft on British policy matters, engaging in lobbying, and using his connections in political circles.
Sunak will also donate all his salary from Microsoft to the charity The Richmond Project, which he founded with his wife Akshata Murthy to develop mathematical skills in children.
In addition to his work at Microsoft, the former British Prime Minister is involved with the San Francisco-based artificial intelligence startup Anthropic and investment bank Goldman Sachs, where he previously worked from 2001 to 2004.
Rishi Sunak led the UK government from October 2022 to July 2024, when his party lost the general elections.
