According to Rosaviatsiya, 339 aircraft and 200 helicopters may be retired from the fleets of Russian airlines by 2030 if the situation develops according to the pessimistic forecast.
It was stated that as of October 6, the fleet of 76 airlines consists of 1,135 aircraft. They perform 99% of flights. Of these, 1,088 aircraft are in active use, while 47 remain non-operational.
For comparison: in October 2023, the Russian aircraft fleet numbered 2,228 aircraft, and there were 116 airlines among the operators.
"According to the pessimistic forecast, by 2030, we estimate that together with the airlines, about 339 aircraft will be retired. This includes 230 Russian aircraft, including those that are 40, 50, or 60 years old, as well as 109 foreign aircraft. In addition, we plan to retire 200 helicopters," Rosaviatsiya reported.
They specified that the average age of the fleet in the 15 leading airlines is about 14 years.
