Egypt announced negotiations between Israel and Hamas on October 6

Negotiations between the delegations of Israel and the terrorists of Hamas will take place in Egypt on October 6. As stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Cairo, the meeting will discuss the details of the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners.

Egypt has invited representatives of Israel and the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas to conduct negotiations on October 6 regarding the exchange of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip for Palestinian prisoners as part of U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan. The negotiations, which are expected to be indirect, are "part of efforts to develop regional and international momentum" that arose after Trump presented his plan to end hostilities in the Gaza Strip, the foreign ministry in Cairo stated on the evening of Saturday, October 4.

The exact location of the meeting has not been specified. According to the Israeli publication Ynet and several other media outlets, it will take place in Sharm El Sheikh. In turn, CNN Arabic names Cairo as the venue for the negotiations. It also cites sources stating that the Israeli delegation will be led by the Minister of Strategic Planning and trusted associate of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Ron Dermer.

Trump: Ceasefire will take effect when Hamas agrees to the plan

For his part, Trump stated that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will take effect as soon as Hamas confirms its agreement with the plan proposed by the White House. Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that he intends to disarm Hamas and demilitarize the Gaza Strip - either diplomatically or through military means. "This will be achieved the easy way or the hard way, but it will happen," emphasized the Israeli Prime Minister.

Hamas terrorists agreed to hand over to Israel all remaining live hostages and the bodies of the deceased "in accordance with the exchange formula proposed by President Trump," if "the necessary conditions for the exchange are created." "The movement confirms its readiness to immediately begin negotiations through intermediaries to discuss the details of this agreement," the group stated.

Hamas also agreed to transfer control of the Gaza Strip to an independent body, "based on Palestinian national consensus and support from Arabs and Islam." At the same time, representatives of the group did not address the issue of disarmament outlined in the plan. Hamas leaders in Qatar insisted on changing some conditions of the U.S. President's initiative.
