Zoomers Sabotage the Implementation of AI at Work

Zoomers do not support the implementation of AI as unambiguously as one might expect. A study by a British agency showed that members of Generation Z sometimes are wary of the development of artificial intelligence. This is reported by Futurism.

The authors surveyed 1,200 office employees and 1,200 managers from the UK, the USA, and European countries about their attitudes towards AI tools and interactions with them. It turned out that nearly a third of employees have a negative attitude towards the implementation of AI in work processes.

Among Zoomers, the proportion of opponents of artificial intelligence is particularly high: 44 percent of them admitted to sabotaging the implementation of internal AI services. Methods of resistance include sending confidential information to publicly accessible AI chatbots, intentionally preserving algorithm errors, and using unapproved tools.

Researchers found the scale of sabotage against the automation of work processes alarming. In their opinion, involving staff in the AI implementation process and ensuring transparency regarding its use scenarios can help reduce the risk of internal resistance. This approach can dispel concerns about job cuts.
