American actor Kurt Russell explained why his relationship with actress Goldie Hawn, which has lasted for over 40 years, has not been formalized officially.

According to Russell, the decision was made early in their relationship when both already had experience with family life. "By that time, we had both gone through a divorce, she had two small children — Oliver and Kate, and I had one, Boston. We immediately found common ground and decided, 'Let’s have fun until we get tired of it,'" the actor noted.
He added that this approach became the foundation of their relationship, which has lasted for 43 years.
Goldie Hawn, for her part, emphasizes that freedom and a conscious choice to be together are important for them. "We both have our own means of living, we are both financially independent. We raised our children well; they are wonderful people. We did great, and we didn’t need to get married for that," the actress said.
