Weeds on Pathways: An Effective Method with Boiling Water and Salt

Weeds on garden paths, terraces, and between tiles appear with the onset of warmth and quickly spread. However, not everyone is ready to use chemical agents that can harm the soil and the environment.

There is a simple way to combat unwanted vegetation that does not require special means and is suitable for treating small areas.

Why You Should Avoid Chemicals

Herbicides can be effective, but they have drawbacks:

  • potential harm to humans and animals
  • negative impact on the soil
  • additional costs

A Simple Way to Remove Weeds

You will need just two components for treatment:

  • boiling water
  • table salt

How to Apply

First, bring the water to a boil and generously pour it over the weeds, especially in the cracks between the tiles. Then lightly sprinkle the treated areas with salt and leave them without further intervention.

Within a day, the plants begin to wilt, and after a few days, they completely dry out. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated.

Why This Works

Boiling water destroys the structure of the plant tissues, while salt helps to draw moisture out of the cells. As a result, the weeds quickly dehydrate and die.

What to Consider

In enclosed areas, the effect may last longer, while in open spaces, weeds may reappear due to precipitation and wind. In this case, it is sufficient to periodically repeat the treatment.

This method allows for maintaining the cleanliness of pathways without the use of chemicals and unnecessary expenses.
