After washing, a blanket can become stiff, lose softness, and even change shape. To maintain fluffiness, it is important to follow the care rules for textiles.
The main recommendations are indicated by the manufacturer on the label: it specifies the suitable wash cycle and permissible temperature depending on the fabric composition. Machine washing is possible if the dry blanket weighs no more than 4.5 kilograms. Heavier models are better washed by hand or taken to a dry cleaner.
It is better to use liquid detergents: gels or capsules. They dissolve completely and do not disrupt the structure of the fibers. Powders, on the contrary, can make the fabric coarse and lead to fading. Special formulations are needed for delicate materials, and spinning should be avoided. Fabric softener helps to soften the fibers, prevent pilling, and maintain a pleasant texture.
It is advisable to choose a delicate cycle with a temperature of up to 40 degrees and a spin speed of no more than 500 revolutions per minute. The blanket should be dried on a flat horizontal surface to prevent the fabric from stretching under its own weight.
