Greasy buildup on the kitchen hood over time reduces its performance and spoils the appearance of the appliance. Dirt can be removed using a simple solution made from readily available components.
To prepare a degreasing solution, dissolve three tablespoons of washing soda and one tablespoon of ammonia in one liter of hot water. Warm water enhances the action of the components and helps dissolve grease more effectively. The mixture is applied with a sponge to the dirty surface, paying special attention to areas with heavy buildup, and then left for about a quarter of an hour.
During this time, the solution penetrates the structure of the dirt and softens it. To enhance the effect, the treated areas can be lightly sprinkled with baking soda: its mild abrasive properties help remove grease residues and restore the surface's cleanliness.
After treatment, the hood is wiped with a damp sponge or cloth, rinsing away the remnants of the solution and dirt. If necessary, the procedure is repeated. Finally, the surface is dried with a clean cloth to remove moisture and give the appliance a shine.
