Geneticist Names Three Habits That Really Accelerate Aging

Today, the topic of rejuvenating the body has become extremely popular. Social media actively discusses biohacking, various supplements, cold baths, and other "secrets of longevity." However, according to specialists, the real reasons for aging are much simpler. Geneticist Alexander Kolyada spoke about this in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.

What Is Known About the Aging Process

As the expert notes, it is impossible to completely turn back time. A person cannot return their body to the state it was in a decade ago, but they can influence the rate of aging.

"Humans and their bodies inevitably age. They can age faster or slower. But the idea that at 40 one can make the body the same as it was at 30 is more of a futuristic concept," explained Kolyada.

According to him, it is more important not to look for ways to "turn back time," but to focus on the factors that truly affect health and longevity.

Three Habits That Are Most Harmful to the Body

The geneticist notes that the main factors accelerating aging have long been known and are not a sensation. Three common habits cause the most harm to the body.

Smoking

It negatively affects the cardiovascular system, lungs, and cell condition, accelerating the aging processes.

Overeating

Excessive calorie intake disrupts metabolism and can contribute to the development of chronic diseases.

Sedentary Lifestyle

A lack of physical activity worsens the functioning of many body systems and increases the risk of various diseases.

According to the specialist, these factors often have a much greater impact on the duration and quality of life than popular rejuvenating practices.

Why There Is No "Magic Pill"

The expert emphasizes that there is no universal method of rejuvenation. Fashionable trends often create the illusion of quick results, but health primarily depends on basic things — lifestyle, nutrition, and level of physical activity.

Therefore, instead of searching for a "magic pill," it is better to focus on simple habits that really work: balanced nutrition, regular movement, and giving up bad habits.

In the geneticist's opinion, it is these basic solutions that can significantly influence the rate of aging and how a person will feel in adulthood.
