Personal computers have firmly entered the life of modern humans and have become an integral tool for both work and entertainment. However, prolonged sitting in front of a monitor can negatively affect vision.
To reduce eye strain, researchers from the University of Texas have developed an effective method called the "20-20-20-20" method.
How to Perform the Method
The essence is simple:
- Every 20 minutes of computer work, take a 20-second break.
- During this break, look at objects located 20 feet away (about 6 meters).
- During the pause, you should blink at least 20 times.
Why It’s Important
- When working at a monitor, a person blinks much less frequently, which causes the mucous membrane of the eyes to become insufficiently moisturized. This can lead to dry eye syndrome.
- The exercise helps to prevent eye fatigue, headaches, as well as neck and joint pain.
Who Is Recommended
The "20-20-20-20" method is beneficial not only for active PC users but also for anyone who wants to preserve their vision for many years.
