Vysotsky's Love Letters Go to Archive: Marina Vlady Transferred Vysotsky's Love Letters to Russia

Marina Vlady transferred her love correspondence with Vladimir Vysotsky to Russia.

Marina Vlady decided to transfer her love correspondence with poet and singer Vladimir Vysotsky to the Russian State Archive.

The French actress also requested that the letters not be published during her lifetime. The head of the Federal Archival Agency, Andrey Artizov, stated that the right to privacy of the celebrity is being respected.

"She asked not to publish or allow anyone access to her love correspondence with him during her lifetime. Of course, we follow this and respect her wishes. This is the so-called right to privacy," Artizov said.

It is not specified when Vlady transferred the correspondence with Vysotsky.

87-year-old Vlady was the fourth and last wife of the Soviet poet, who passed away in 1980. In 2025, it will be 45 years since his death.

Earlier, it was reported that previously unpublished recordings of Vysotsky had been found. The producer of the project "Vysotsky. Height," Alexander Mamonov, clarified that the compositions were discovered in family archives and private collections of fans. For decades, they had been unavailable to the general public — these are home recordings, concert versions, and rare studio takes that were considered lost.
