No-Bake Zebra Cake: Only Cookies and Custard Needed

You can use regular or chocolate cookies to make this cake. You can also combine two types to create different layers.

Ingredients

  • Eggs 3 pieces

  • Sugar 170 g

  • Vanilla sugar 10 g

  • Flour 2 tablespoons

  • Cornstarch 1 tablespoon

  • Milk 800 g

  • Butter 100 g

  • Chocolate cookies 550 g

  • Walnuts 120 g

Preparation

  1. Break the eggs into a saucepan, add sugar (regular and vanilla), flour, and cornstarch. Whisk and place on the heat.

  2. Pour in a little milk, stir, and cook for 2 minutes. Add more milk, cook for another 2 minutes.

  3. Pour in the remaining milk and cook until thickened, stirring constantly with a whisk.

  4. Turn off the heat and add butter to the custard, stirring until fully dissolved. Then transfer the custard to a deep bowl and cool, covering with plastic wrap in contact.

  5. Assemble the cake, alternating custard with cookies. The first and last layers should be custard.

  6. Chop the walnuts and sprinkle them over the cake. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.
