In December, the premiere of the world-class musical-theatrical ice show “The Wizard in the Land of Dreams” featuring figure skating stars from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia will take place at the largest ice venues in Latvia. The creators and organizers of the production are the authors of the ice show “Thumbelina,” which was successfully presented last year at Xiaomi Arena and other European venues.
The performances will take place on December 23 in Liepaja (LOC Ice Hall), December 26 in Daugavpils (Daugavpils Ice Hall), and December 27 in Riga (Xiaomi Arena).
A kind and bright story inspired by A. Volkov's fairy tale “The Wizard of the Emerald City” will be presented in a new light: Dorothy and her faithful dog Toto, the charming Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion, mysterious witches, and, of course, the enigmatic Wizard will come to life on the ice arena. Together with the characters, the audience will embark on a fantastic journey through the Land of Dreams — a place where dreams come true.
“The Wizard in the Land of Dreams” is a spectacular musical-theatrical performance created by a large creative team from Latvia: choreographers, artists, set designers, costume designers, composers, and specialists in lighting and special effects. Every detail — from the decorations to the musical accompaniment — will create a magical atmosphere that will captivate both children and adults.
The ice show features 24 world-class figure skaters — participants of world and European championships, winners and laureates of various international competitions, as well as acrobats, aerial gymnasts, and other performers from Latvia and the Baltic countries.
The participants of the ice show will demonstrate the highest level of technical skill and artistic expressiveness: the audience can expect complex lifts, spins, jumps, spectacular Todes and graceful synchronized duets. The arena's space will come alive not only on the ice — thrilling tricks by aerial acrobats under the dome will emphasize the magical atmosphere of the event.
“The Wizard in the Land of Dreams” is a vibrant cultural event aimed at audiences of all ages. The show will be a worthy decoration for the New Year holidays and a wonderful reason to spend an evening in the atmosphere of true ice theater.
