The car designers were clearly inspired by Lamborghini.

It is extremely easy to distinguish the Omoda C5 of the 2026 model year from its predecessor. The "face" of the new model no longer features the signature radiator grille. Instead, there is now a solid plastic panel on the bumper in an electric vehicle style, with an inconspicuous narrow grille at the very bottom.

In place of the previous intricate grille splendor, a horizontal slot has been cut above the license plate area — in the style of a mailbox. Additionally, the front of the crossover has been given more angles on the body corners, right below the new narrow headlights.

There are fewer changes in the design of the rear. The most noticeable ones appear when the car brakes. The taillight design resembles lightning bolts, similar to the Omoda C7.

It is hardly noticeable from the side that the body of the updated C5 has slightly stretched in length — to 4,545 mm compared to 4,400 mm for its predecessor. However, this has been achieved solely due to the increased bumpers. The wheelbase of the crossover remains the same — 2,630 mm.

One could say that the designers transferred the interior of the more senior model C7 into the cabin of the updated C5. There are now more expensive finishing materials — soft plastic and eco-leather. Additionally, there are more ergonomic front seats with two-tone upholstery. The front seats of the C5 are quite commendable. They offer excellent, yet unobtrusive lateral support (for both the back and thighs) and an unusually long and comfortable horizontal cushion. The headrest position is now adjustable. What more could one wish for?! Well, perhaps lumbar support! But unfortunately, it is not present here.

The fuel consumption is quite in line with the class of the vehicle. After a couple of days of spirited driving in mixed conditions both on highways and in populated areas of the Moscow region, the onboard computer calculated the average fuel consumption at around 8–8.5 liters per 100 km. This is considering that I did not hesitate to floor the gas pedal at all times and everywhere — whenever traffic rules and road conditions allowed.

I was pleased to find that in fast turns, the crossover maintains its trajectory calmly. And on straight roads, no potholes, bumps, or other spring asphalt fluctuations can throw it off course. I would only note that the suspension of the C5 handles unevenness with pronounced stiffness. But this, apparently, is the price for its ability to "go like on rails" everywhere and always.
