Reuters: iPhones urged to update to protect against the Coruna malware.
Millions of Apple devices have been attacked through Ukrainian websites. This was reported by Reuters.
The attack was noted by specialists from Lookout, iVerify, and Google. They discovered that malware called Coruna was being spread through websites on the internet, predominantly located in Ukraine. Experts urged Apple device users to update their devices.
According to Lookout's lead researcher Justin Albrecht, the attackers aim to steal money from their victims. Researchers stated that it is currently unclear how many iPhones are vulnerable to the attacks. However, they confirmed that the malware is effective on iPhones running iOS versions from 18.4 to 18.6.2. These operating system (OS) versions were released in the summer of 2025, prompting specialists to urge device owners to install updates urgently.
An Apple representative stated that the vulnerabilities were targeting "outdated software." He also confirmed that to protect against the attacks, it is necessary to install the latest iOS update.
